About the Speaker

Oluyomi Martins is a Researcher and an Online Business and Financial Services Course Faculty with over 21 years of work experience in various International Banks and Financial Services Training Firms.

He is currently the Managing Director and Lead Faculty at Black Martins and Company Limited, a Training and Financial Services Consulting Firm actively involved in Entrepreneurship Training and Business Development, Business Process Optimization, Brokerage of Peer to Peer Lending and nurturing of SME Businesses from Conception to take off. Prior to joining Black Martins and Company Limited in 2014, Oluyomi was Branch Manager (Manager) of the Magodo branch of Keystone Bank Limited.

He led the marketing team to drastically reduce the monthly loss position of approximately Nine billion naira when he took over in January 2014 to Three billion naira by November 2014 when he left the branch.
All other financial indices that directly impact profitability, particularly deposit liability, risk asset, interest income, expense management, fixed asset efficiency etc all witnessed an average improvement of 28% during this period.

His banking career started with Citibank Nigeria in 2000 where he worked in Operations and Technology Group as Assistant Banking Officer and rose to the position of Head Teller (Banking Officer). He moved to Access Bank PLC as Branch Services Head in 2003 and subsequently Head of Cash Management Unit (CMU).

He joined Bank PHB PLC in 2007 as Branch Services Manager, a position he held till 2008, before moving to Internal Audit Group. As an Internal Auditor, he has worked as Head, Audit Investigation, Head, Value for Money Audit, Head Branch Audit Abuja & North, Head Audit Implementation and Head, Head Office & Credit Audit Units.

He had a stint as Head, Retail Products in the Product & Marketing Support Division before being appointed as Head Business Analytics (Lagos & West Region) and Special Assistant on Analytics to Executive Director Operations and Technology which was his last position before taking up the function of Branch Manager.

He has also worked for Action Health Incorporated (Non-Governmental Organisation into Reproductive Health Education) as Programme Assistant Media and Advocacy. Oluyomi holds a Bachelor’s degree in Mass Communication from the University of Lagos (1998), MBA from Business School Netherlands (2008) and PhD in Business Administration (Candidate) Unicaf University Zambia.

He has also attended several courses organized by Citibank, Access Bank Training School, Bank PHB/Keystone Bank Limited, IBFC Agusto Training, Restral Consulting, Vic Lawrence and Associates and John Hopkins University Communication Center USA.
